Chutneys Bistro

First of all, I really love this restaurant and I had already reviewed it before without putting anything in the box. I have gone back multiple times for a lovely Tikka masala that they make and of course many other dishes. I'm treated like part of the family and they remember me as a regular customer and they take care of me whenever they have me there. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, and just wonderful and a lovely experience all around. I would definitely recommend the amazing Chutneys Bistro.

We are frequent flyers at this restaurant, maybe three or four times a year. We love the Indian food. The red lentil curry, dahl, is my number one favorite. You can see the wide variety of dishes in the pictures. The ticket for three of us was $72 or about $24 each including tax. That's really good I think! Parking has always been easy in the lots surrounding the old Wallingford Center or Wallingford School House. It's at 45th and Wallingford. The hosts are more than congenial, they are fun guys. They always make our stay extra enjoyable.

Update Feb 2023: Come back on early February and was surprised when I got the bill that the cost of the lunch buffet has been increased to $21.95. With the tax and a small tip it came to $27. The new cost was not updated to their website at the time. The food is still good; they added vegetables biryani to replace the hot grilled veggies they used to have. I know that things are expensive now, but this is not affordable for a single person, let alone to bring a whole family in. The service was very limited as the only thing they did was to take me to my seat and filled my glass with water; none of the used plates were removed. One less option in my book from now on. Original review: Went back to Chutney for lunch buffet the first time since the pandemic. Still good varieties, clean, and full trays of different food selections. For $16.99 you can stuffed yourself with quality Indian cuisine. Still not a bad deal. The Daal lentil was surprisingly tasty. For buffet, they offered four types of curries including a meatball tikka masala, a vegetarian korma and a soupy kind, which was very flavorful as well. Indian roasted vegetables, Tandoori chicken legs, and different kinds of chutneys are long term staples. Cheesy fried potato is very tasty but filling. Pre-pandemic they offered individual bite size cakes as desserts. Now they offer three different kinds of desserts, including rice pudding, mango mousse, and Gulab Jamun, which is a kind of deep fried cheese ball. We absolutely love this place. We have been going here for years. We take all of our out of town friends here and our clients. Hands down the best Indian food in town. The staff is always super friendly. The food is always top quality and fresh. One of the cleanest restaurants I ever been to. Outdoor seating available. Current menu pictured.
